SYMPOSIUM ON DYNAMICS AND CONTROL OF NONLINEAR SYSTEMS

17th ASME BIENNIAL CONFERENCE ON
MECHANICAL VIBRATION AND NOISE

SEPTEMBER 12-15, 1999

Las Vegas, Nevada

The technical program committee is sponsoring a symposium on Dynamics and Control of Nonlinear Systems at the 17th ASME Biennial Conference on Mechanical Vibration and Noise to be held at Las Vegas, Nevada. Papers are solicited in all areas related to theoretical, experimental, symbolic, and computational aspects of dynamics and control of nonlinear mechanical and structural systems. Some of the topics relevant to this symposium include the following:

-stability, bifurcations, and nonperiodic motions
-machine dynamics and rotor dynamics
-experimental investigations into nonlinear phenomena
-nonlinear control
-manufacturing applications
-dynamics of non-smooth systems
-control of nonlinear dynamics

Special sessions on manufacturing applications are to be organized as a part of this symposium by Drs. M. Davies, T. Burns, and J. Pratt of National Institute of Standards and Technology.

Interested authors are requested to submit three copies of full paper to one of the organizers listed below. All reviewed and accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings. Please note the following dates and deadlines.

Manuscript due (three copies): February 2, 1999
Notification of paper acceptance: April 12, 1999
Final camera-ready manuscripts due: May 18, 1999
