Year: Junior
I am a sophomore Fire Protection Engineer who became interested in engineering because of my math and science skills. In high school, I worked with the Navy research and development team for electrochemical power. Maryland has been a great fit for me. I have enjoyed sports games and the campus life. When I got here, I was introduced to Fire Protection Engineering, a small major only offered at Maryland. Classes seem much more interesting when studying fires. I've had a great time at Maryland with great teachers, students and interesting classes. I have played hockey all my life and last year I played on the club hockey team, but knee injuries have made me stop. I am a member of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers and have had a good time in the Honors Program. I plan to minor in International Engineering and am very excited to study abroad in Denmark in the Fall.
