The column, titled "Anh Duong, Out Of Debt" describes her desire to give back to her adopted country by helping to fight the War on Terror. |

Brenda Freeman
Dept of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering (ChBE) alumna and Clark School Women In Engineering (WIE) Advisory Board member Brenda Cornish-Freeman (B.S. '87) has been named to the newly created position of chief marketing officer for Turner Animation, Young Adults & Kids Media, part of the Turner Broadcasting System. She will provide overall vision and leadership to all areas of marketing, on-air and trade creative services that support the cable television networks Cartoon Network, Adult Swim and Boomerang, along with their on-line businesses, and the digital enterprises GameTap and Super Deluxe. |

Yan Sun
ECE Ph.D. alumna Yan Lindsay Sun '04, an assistant professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Rhode Island, has received a National Science Foundation (NSF) Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) Award. Dr. Sun, a former advisee of Professor K. J. Ray Liu (ECE/ISR), received the honor for her research initiative, titled "Building Trust in Distributed Networks: Theories, Architecture and Applications." |

'81 urban studies and '83 civil engineering, received the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials Trailblazer Award, in recognition of significant contributions to the transportation industry in the Washington Metropolitan area. Nancy Linton
ECE alumna Nancy Tarlton Linton, a systems engineer at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory in Laurel, Md., was awarded the 2008 Black Engineer of the Year Award for Outstanding Technical Contribution in Government. The award was presented at the 22nd Black Engineer of the Year Awards Conference in Baltimore, on Feb. 16, 2008. |
