Maryland Day is a campus-wide open house that showcases and celebrates the university and its vibrant resources of talented students, faculty, and staff. The university opens its doors to alumni and their families, parents, prospective students, the business community and residents of the surrounding Baltimore-Washington Metro area. For the ESC Design Competition, teams of students from each engineering discipline create family friendly projects based on a theme. The projects reflect each engineering major and prizes are awarded in areas such as Best Design, Most Creative, Best Reflection of the Major, and Best Overall. Maryland Day is always the last Saturday of April.
