Catapault Competition
Starting in the spring of 2005, the Engineering Student Council has hosted a school-wide catapult competition. This event is a lot of fun and allows the students to show off their engineering skills to see who can chuck an orange the farthest. Students can have up to 10 people on a team, and typically several teams will compete. This event is hosted at Acredale Park.

This even will take place on Friday, April 27, 2007 at 5pm!

Directions to the park:

Acredale Community Park is at the intersection of Metzerott Road and MD Route 193.

There is limited parking available, so we suggest that you take the shuttle service or walk the trail and enjoy the day!

Driving directions from campus:
Take Campus Drive to Paint Branch Drive. Follow Paint Branch down past the windtunnel, the Comcast Center, and right out to the traffic light. Take a right onto MD 193 and almost immediately take another right onto Metzerott Road. Continue on for a short while, and the pavilion should be on your left.

Walking directions from Glenn L. Martin:
Cross Paint Branch Drive and walk alongside the CSIC building towards Route 1. Behind A.V. Williams by Lot XX1 is the Paint Branch Trail. Follow the trail to the left -- NOT under the bridge for U.S. Route 1. After walking awhile, you will cross a footbridge that opens out onto the campus parking lot 11b (you should be able to see the Comcast Center to your left). Keep following the trail to the right. After awhile the trail will open onto a field, and you should see the dog park on your left. Follow the trail to the road (Metzerott Road) and follow the roadway left. Pass over the "One Lane Bridge." Shortly thereafter, the Acredale Park pavilion will be on your right.

Walking directions from Comcast Center:
Cross Paint Branch Drive and head towards Lot 11b. Walk all the way to the back of Lot 11b until you are at the treeline. Follow the trail to your left. After awhile the trail will open onto a field, and you should see the dog park on your left. Follow the trail to the road (Metzerott Road) and follow the roadway left. Pass over the "One Lane Bridge." Shortly thereafter, the Acredale Park pavilion will be on your right
