The ASHRAE Scholarship Program is designed to encourage and assist heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC&R) education through its granting of scholarships and fellowships. The program also serves the public interest by aiding in the education of men and women to become qualified to practice as engineers in the HVAC&R field. Scholarships are available to undergraduate engineering, engineering technology and graduate students enrolled full-time in a curriculum approved by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) or other accrediting agency recognized by ASHRAE, and the student is pursuing a course of study which traditionally has been a preparatory curriculum for a career in HVAC&R. For a list of ABET-accredited programs by school, go to the ABET website at http://www.abet.org . Please refer to these documents for more detailed information:

The National Capital Chapter of ASHRAE rewards qualified undergraduate and graduate student members in the region who may be suitable to receive the chapters' scholarship awards. The award is for $1000 and is given to students who have interest in ASHRAE related fields and who deserve this recognition due to scholastic and/or student activities. The student must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. The students are nominated by the UMCP chapter and their names are sent to the NCC chapter to choose the winner of the reward. The reward is then given to the winner in a ceremony that the NCC holds at one of its monthly meetings.
